Use the calculator below to obtain an unofficial estimate of your potential pension benefit for retirement planning purposes. The accuracy of this calculator depends on how closely the information you input matches official data at the time of your retirement.

If you are within three years of retirement, log in to your Online Pension Account to obtain an official estimate based on your service and salary information on record with WRS.

If the results of any estimate differ from an official estimate at the time of retirement, the official estimate will be used to calculate your monthly benefit. This calculator will not give the correct results for a disability retirement, re-hired retirees, or QDRO retirements.

Pension Payout Options

In many WRS Pension Plans, payout options allow you to take a reduced monthly benefit in exchange for benefits to your beneficiary. Some Plans have Self-Funded Cost of Living Adjustment payout options which provide guaranteed annual increases in exchange for a reduction in your initial benefit amount.

Retirement Eligibility

WRS' pension plans have retirement eligibility age and service requirements. Some plans provide an unreduced retirement benefit when the member's years of service plus age add up to a certain number (ie, 85). In some WRS Pension Plans, members may take a lifetime benefit permanently reduced by 5% per year the member is below the full retirement age.
